What is Geo-Mentoring?

Geo-Mentoring has been active for six months and let's revisit our original vision from Fred Aminzadeh, current President of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (2007-2008), in his SEG TLE article in November 2007.

"My vision of geo-mentoring is a program that would cover a large spectrum:  technical issues, career issues, and many other things, including how to become active in professional societies, how to decide a career path, how to define success for yourself, and how to reach that success."

I will be following this 'post' with a six month report card on our progress to date.  Please
be part of the feedback and join in with your input by 'clicking' on and replying in the comments following.

The "six month" report card turns out to be the later post for the SEG 2008 Annual Report for the Geo-Mentoring Committee.

With the completion of the new SEG Online Web architecture and design, this blog arrives at a wonderful time in SEG's history. SEG now is ready to move into the content phase of its Web site's growth, and to do that, it will need to connect with its members--especially its student members. --Sylvie Dale, SEG Online Editor
